Introducing the Roland VersaStudio BY2-20: DTF Production, Simplified

Some machines just make the job easier. Roland's new VersaStudio BY2-20 is a compact, connected DTF system that brings printing, cutting, software, ink, film and powder together into a single workflow, built to take the guesswork out of DTF production and let you get on with the work. 

Consistent output, run after run 

Ever had a reprint that just doesn't quite match the original? The BY2-20's dual white ink system, with 500ml cartridges, is built to hold white opacity and fine detail across long production runs. Paired with Roland DG's S-PG2 ink and precision ink placement, small text and intricate linework stay sharp, so a repeat order looks right, whether it's printed today or in six months' time. 

Built to keep production moving 

Long runs are where systems can start to show their limits. The BY2-20 is designed around controlled ink delivery and stable printhead performance, with clear job status visibility throughout each print. Automated maintenance features work quietly in the background, cutting down the manual intervention and rework that eat into a busy day. 

One connected workflow, less guesswork 

Design, prep and production come together through Roland DG Connect Designer and VersaWorks 7, both included as standard. Automatic white layer generation and transparent data handling catch problems in the artwork before they become a wasted print, and automated media adjustment keeps alignment accurate. 

More than a DTF printer 

Here's the bit that makes the BY2-20 flexible and versatile: it also handles standalone cutting, from graphics, lettering, numbering and speciality media. That means HTV work and cut-only jobs run through the same machine as your DTF transfers. One enquiry, one quote, one machine, instead of turning work away because it doesn't quite fit your setup. 

It prints onto cotton, polyester, polyester blends, denim, nylon, rayon and more, covering everything from t-shirts and hoodies to tote bags and workwear. 

Compact by design 

At 1,069mm × 787mm × 622mm and 66kg, the BY2-20 is built to fit into a working production space rather than demand one of its own - a serious DTF setup without the serious footprint.
